Stage Three Race Update

On Saturday’s third stage of the 2023 Reef to Reef a significant number of riders took a wrong turn which took them onto another trail, off the marked course.

These riders followed conflicting signage that had been installed this morning for an upcoming running event, which caused confusion.

As a result, a mixture of riders doing the correct and incorrect courses crossed the finish line, meaning the event team is unable to determine which riders had completed the correctly marked course.

As a result of this, the Race Referee in consultation with event organisers have decided that results for the stage would be neutralised, with results from stage 3 not counting towards the overall General Classification for any riders.

The Reef to Reef team would like to apologise to all riders from today’s stage and and look forward to seeing them for tomorrow’s fourth and final stage.
